Who it applies to:

Work requirements apply only to people ages 19–64 enrolled in the Healthy Michigan Plan (HMP). Many people already meet the requirement through work, school, or other activities.

Not sure if you’re on HMP? Check your MI Bridges account or call the beneficiary help line.

Two ways to meet it:

Approved activities include employment, work programs, volunteering, community service, high school / GED, or college / vocational programs. Hours can be combined.

Who may be exempt:

Note: Partial list, MDHHS checks many exemptions automatically.

How to report:

Most reporting happens through MI Bridges or on the Medicaid application. MDHHS will try to verify activities and exemptions automatically, and will contact people only if more information is needed.

Watch for notices and respond by the deadline, missing one could put coverage at risk.
